On Monday, 24th January, we filmed at Katie's house again. The filming went well, better than the first time because we used a room with better lighting. Also, we thought a lot about the mise-en-scene. We also improved on the dialogue, which is as follows:
Shot 4: Boy: I saw you looking at that guy on the way in
Girl: What guy? You're being silly and don't put that there!
Shot 5 Boy: Do you really think this long distance relationship is going to work?
Girl: We've discussed this. Give it a rest!
Shot 6 Girl: Can you come over here and pick this box up please?
Shot 9 Girl: Oh what have you done!?
We also changed the idea of the pictures being stuck in the Graduation book. Instead, we decided that they should fall out of the book and that Rose (the main character), should pick up the photos of the main characters. We originally wanted to use a tannoy (in shot 3) to make it appear more like a dorm room, but we then realised we would not be able to do it.

Unfortunately, when we uploaded the footage of our title on to the computer, the lighting was too dark and we couldn't use it for our title sequence. This lighting affected our ability to see the pictures in the Graduation book which was the main prop in our Graduation book. Therefore, we need to re shoot because of this problem. In addition to this, the prop of the moving boxes were not there as it was hard to get hold of them.
We realised we did not have a clear storyboard so in today's lesson we worked on our storyboard so we now know exactly what we had to film, and what shots we need to take. We have also realised we need to pay more attention to the mise-en-scene, as there were things in the background of the footage we had that shouldn't have been there. So, they did not match the genre of our film.
We are re shooting this Monday in the morning when we have a double media lesson. With our clear storyboard and knowledge that we need to check our mise-en-scene and check the lighting is correct, the footage we film on Monday should be a big improvement to the footage we already have. Therefore, we are going to re shoot in another room that has a lot of natural light. We are also getting hold of the boxes so it will look much better. The lighting is the biggest thing regarding our opening title sequence, otherwise if the lighting is not good it will have a bad effect on the title sequence.

We filmed at Katie's house. We originally wanted to film at Angelica's house but we had to change the location due to certain circumstances. Therefore, we filmed at Katkie's house instead.

Monday 17th January 2011
We filmed the locker scene of our opening title sequence in our sixth form common room. The scene involved our characters, Doug and Chad throwing rubbish over the main character, Rose in front of the lockers.

Filming...
Thursday 6th January 2011:
Made our production logo, title and the character credits
Friday 7th January 2011:
Taking photos of our characters for the Year Book! and filming the last shot.
Monday 10th January 2011:
After school film at Angelica's house.
When creating our credits we realised we needed to find out in what order they appear in especially the 'Directed by' and 'Produced by'. We found that first of all it will say Produced by then Directed by.

Our Title
Feedback from our presentation to the class
My group presented our Brief and Treatment to our class and received feedback from our idea. Overall, it was positive and they all said that our movie has definite potential.
Most people liked our narrative structure of starting in the present then going back to the past. A few did not understand it well but that may be that they did not understand our opening title sequence. Everyone liked our stereotypes of our characters as well as setting and how they all link into our genre of Rom-com. Furthermore, one feedback really liked our thinking of when to release our film because how it would attract to the audience.
We also need to work on how we would record the song by Jets as we are not allowed to use it because of copyright. Our group have decided to use a band that would change it around a little so it did not sound like the original.

This is the roles we are playing within our group. We have two producers and two directors.
Beth Rashbrook (Producer)
The producer is responsible for all aspects of the film's production. The producer is accountable for the success of the finished film
It is the editors role to select shot and arrange and modify them in order to improve and process their form and content. This involves constructing a sequence of images and sounds in flowing continuity by picking the particular shot, cutting or expanding it to a certain length and deciding the order in which the shots will appear and the type of transition between them.
The co-executive producer helps the executive producer, who is responsible for the overall production of the film.
The director controls the dramatic and artistic aspects of the film. They develop a vision for the film and they decide how it should look, what tone it should have and what the audience should gain from the cinematic experience. The film director is responsible for approving every camera angle, lens effect, lighting and set design of the film.
